Assassin's Creed Remakes Confirmed
A Regular Stream of Diverse Assassin's Creed Experiences

In a recent interview on the Ubisoft website, CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed the development of multiple Assassin's Creed remakes, although he didn't specify which games would be receiving this treatment. He stated, "Firstly, players can be excited about some remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we've created in the past and modernize them; there are worlds in some of our older Assassin's Creed games that are still extremely rich." This suggests fans can anticipate a revitalization of classic Assassin's Creed entries.
Guillemot also hinted at a diverse range of Assassin's Creed experiences in the coming years. He explained, "There will be plenty of experience variety. The goal is to have Assassin’s Creed games come out more regularly, but not for it to be the same experience every year."

This commitment to variety is further underscored by upcoming titles like Assassin's Creed Hexe, set in 16th-century Europe and targeting a 2026 release, and Assassin's Creed Shadows, set in feudal Japan, launching November 15, 2024. Assassin's Creed Jade, a mobile title, is also slated for a 2025 release. These titles promise fresh and unique experiences within the franchise.
Ubisoft has a history of revisiting its classic titles, with previous releases such as Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection (2016) and Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered (2018). Last year, rumors circulated about a potential remake of the popular Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, although official confirmation is still pending.
Ubisoft Embraces Generative AI

Beyond remakes and new releases, Guillemot discussed advancements in game development technology. He highlighted the dynamic weather system in Assassin's Creed Shadows, which significantly impacts gameplay and visuals. He also emphasized his belief in the potential of generative AI to enhance game worlds.
Guillemot noted, "Technology is evolving at such a pace that there are limitless possibilities for evolution," citing the weather system in Assassin's Creed Shadows as an example: "In Assassin's Creed Shadows, for example, we have a weather system that will affect its gameplay; ponds that were once swimmable might freeze, for instance."
He continued, "Visually, we're also seeing a big step forward for the series. I have also been very vocal about the potential I see in generative AI and how it can enrich NPCs to be more intelligent, more interactive. This could potentially extend to animals in the world, to the world itself. There is still so much we can do to enrich these open worlds to be even more dynamic."
