Blizzard has unveiled exciting new details about the upcoming in-game housing system in World of Warcraft: Midnight. Although the expansion is set to launch following The War Within as a part of the Worldsoul saga, early previews have sparked immense anticipation among the player base due to the promised extensive customization options.
A recent developer blog included in-game videos that showcase the intricacies of furniture placement. The system utilizes a grid for alignment, with an automatic snapping feature that ensures a neat and organized look. Players can enhance larger items, such as shelves or tables, with smaller decorative accessories that remain in place even when the larger items are moved around.
The housing system offers two distinct modes: Basic Mode, designed for straightforward organization, and Advanced Mode, catering to creative builders. In Advanced Mode, players have the freedom to rotate objects on all three axes and stack them innovatively, enabling the creation of intricate and visually appealing interiors.

A notable feature is the ability to scale objects, which allows for personalized spaces tailored to different character sizes. For example, gnomes can craft cozy, snug environments, while larger races like tauren can design more expansive layouts. Additionally, certain furniture pieces designed specifically for this system will support recoloring, although legacy assets may not include this option.
With the release of Midnight still on the horizon, Blizzard is keeping the community engaged and eager by regularly sharing insights into the upcoming content, ensuring continued excitement and anticipation for the future updates of the game.
