Tuxedo Labs has exciting news for fans of their acclaimed sandbox game, Teardown. The developers have announced the introduction of a multiplayer mode, a long-awaited feature that many in the community have been eagerly anticipating. Alongside this update, Tuxedo Labs is set to release the Folkrace DLC, which promises to enrich the single-player experience with new maps, vehicles, and a variety of racing challenges. Players will have the opportunity to participate in competitive events, collect rewards, and personalize their vehicles to excel on the racetracks.
The multiplayer mode will initially be available through Steam’s Experimental Branch, allowing players to access and test the feature ahead of its full release. Tuxedo Labs is actively seeking feedback, particularly from the modding community, as they will also release updates to the game’s API. These updates will enable modders to adapt their creations for use in multiplayer settings, ensuring a seamless transition for existing mods.
This development marks a significant milestone for Tuxedo Labs, fulfilling a vision they have held since the game's inception. At launch, the multiplayer mode will be accessible via the "Experimental" branch on Steam, and in tandem, the team will roll out API updates to support modders. After the testing phase, multiplayer will become a staple feature of Teardown.
Looking forward, Tuxedo Labs has teased the community with plans for two additional major DLCs, set to be detailed later in 2025. This commitment to expanding and enhancing Teardown underscores the studio's dedication to delivering fresh content and innovative gameplay experiences to their players.
