How to Play Okey
Okey is traditionally played with four players. The game includes a cue stick to help sort the tiles, which come in four colors: Red, Black, Yellow, and Blue, numbered from 1 to 13. In total, there are 106 tiles, including two fake Okey tiles.
At the start of the game, all tiles are shuffled and automatically distributed. The player next to the dealer receives 15 tiles, while the others get 14. Players then arrange their tiles into groups of pairs or sequences based on the cues. The remaining tiles are placed in the middle of the table, and one of these becomes the indicator tile, signaling the color and number of the Okey tile, which can be used as any tile in the game.
In Okey, players aim to form valid sets and runs. A set consists of at least three tiles of the same number in different colors, and a run is a sequence of at least three tiles of the same color. The game ends when a player successfully arranges all their tiles into pairs and discards the last tile to the center of the table.
Scoring and Game End
If the game ends with an Okey tile being discarded, the points earned are doubled. A normal finish without an Okey tile results in a deduction of 2 points from other players, while finishing with an Okey tile deducts 4 points. Completing the game with seven pairs also results in a 4-point deduction from opponents. Achieving a color finish, where all tiles are of the same color in numerical order from 1 to 13, nullifies the opponents' points entirely. If the tiles are of the same color but not in order, an 8-point deduction is applied to other players.
