Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Unveiled

Microsoft has announced the next Xbox Developer Direct, scheduled for January 23rd, marking the first Xbox game showcase of 2025 and the third installment of this annual event. Following the successful January 2023 and 2024 showcases, this year's event will begin at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT. This confirmation follows earlier rumors circulating on January 9th.

Spotlight on Confirmed Titles:

The showcase will feature three highly anticipated titles. South of Midnight, a stylish action-adventure from Compulsion Games (creators of Contrast and We Happy Few), originally announced in June 2023, may finally receive a release date. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, targeting a 2025 release, is confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title. Finally, id Software's Doom: The Dark Ages, announced in June 2024 and playable at QuakeCon 2024, is rumored for a mid-2025 launch.

Beyond the Confirmed Lineup:

While these three games are confirmed, past Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and showcased multiple titles. The 2024 event featured Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Expect the 2025 event to hold similar surprises.
