After a minor leak last week, Electronic Arts (EA) has officially unveiled the title of its upcoming Star Wars game: Star Wars: Zero Company. This eagerly anticipated title is being developed by the newly formed studio, Bit Reactor, with collaborative support from Lucasfilm Games and Respawn.
The first and only (so far) official art for Zero Company.
Details about Star Wars: Zero Company are still scarce, but we know it will be a "single-player turn-based tactics game." Fans won't have to wait long for more information, as EA has promised a first look at the game during the Star Wars Celebration in Japan on April 19.
Bit Reactor, established in 2022, is comprised of seasoned developers from renowned titles such as XCOM, Civilization, Gears of War, and Elder Scrolls Online. While it was previously known that Bit Reactor was collaborating with Respawn on a Star Wars project, this announcement marks the first time concrete details about the game have been shared.
Regarding Respawn's role in the project, their exact level of involvement remains somewhat ambiguous. The studio has faced significant challenges recently, including the cancellation of its own Star Wars FPS project a year ago and mass layoffs at EA, followed by the termination of another multiplayer FPS incubation project just last month.
Fans can look forward to more revelations about Star Wars: Zero Company at a live panel scheduled for Saturday, April 19, at 4:30pm local time in Japan. For those in the U.S., that translates to 12:30am PT and 3:30am ET, so be sure to set your alarms if you don't want to miss out on the latest updates.
