Accessing Nightmare Crownless in Honkai: Star Rail's Wuthering Waves
Nightmare Crownless, a potent Nightmare Echo in Honkai: Star Rail's Wuthering Waves expansion, boasts enhanced Havoc and Basic Attack DMG. This guide details how to unlock it. Unlike standard Echoes, acquiring Nightmare Crownless requires completing a specific quest and an additional step.
Obtaining Nightmare Crownless: A Step-by-Step Guide
This process hinges on two key elements: the "Ruins Where Shadows Roam" quest and locating four Dream Patrols.
1. Completing "Ruins Where Shadows Roam"
This quest isn't initiated through an NPC; instead, it's accessed via the Exploration Progress menu for the Penitent's End region in Rinascita. Locate this menu by opening your map and selecting the compass icon in the upper-left corner.
2. Completing "Quest of Faith" (Recommended)
"Ruins Where Shadows Roam" is closely tied to the optional "Quest of Faith." This involves defeating four enemies in specific Penitent's End locations. Begin at the Resonance Beacon across the broken bridge in Wailing Ascent. Interact with the prompt near the circular arena adjacent to the beacon to initiate combat with a Questless Knight.
Defeating these knights requires strategic positioning. Lure them near lit Macabre Torches within the arena. These torches can be re-lit by using Fae Ignis enemies. Avoid using high-damage skills near the torches to prevent extinguishing them.
3. Locating the Four Dream Patrols
After completing "Ruins Where Shadows Roam" and optionally "Quest of Faith," locate all four Dream Patrols in Penitent's End (see image above). While completing these patrols isn't mandatory for unlocking Nightmare Crownless, they offer additional resources and Monnaie. Once all four are located, Nightmare Crownless will appear on your map within the ruins north of Penitent's End.
4. Farming Nightmare Crownless
Remember that Nightmare Echoes utilize Enhanced Absorption charges, significantly boosting drop rates. Players receive a limited 15 charges weekly; manage these wisely if you're developing multiple characters.
