Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio's latest adventure game, Universe for Sale, is now available. Following the success of titles like The Darkside Detective series and Zoeti, Akupara Games delivers another intriguing experience.
Is the Universe Actually for Sale?
Set on a Jupiter space station, this bizarre bazaar is shrouded in acid rain and mystery. Orangutans with surprising wit work the docks, and cultists barter flesh for enlightenment. The universe itself is for sale, thanks to Lila, a woman with the unique ability to create universes from her hand.
The game begins in a mining colony's shantytown, where you play as the Master, a skeletal cultist from the Cult of Detachment. Exploring the ramshackle colony, you eventually discover Honin's Tea House, Lila's shop, and a mystery begins to unfold as you shift between Lila's and the Master's perspectives.
Playing as Lila involves a mini-game of universe creation, mixing ingredients to produce visually stunning worlds. As the Master, you delve into the philosophies of the Cult of Detachment and encounter the Church of Many Gods.
The narrative unfolds gradually, prompting players to theorize about the overarching plot. Each character, whether human, skeletal, or robotic, possesses a unique story, and the richly detailed world encourages thorough exploration.
