Nvidia Unveils New Doom: The Dark Ages Gameplay

Nvidia's latest showcase offered a glimpse into the highly anticipated Doom: The Dark Ages, revealing a 12-second teaser showcasing the game's diverse environments and the iconic Doom Slayer. The game, slated for release on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC in 2025, will boast DLSS 4 enhancement.

This new footage provides a closer look at the game's world, expanding on the initial reveal at last year's Xbox Games Showcase. Doom: The Dark Ages continues the legacy of id Software's successful Doom reboot series, building upon the foundation laid by the 2016 title. The game promises to deliver the signature brutal combat the franchise is known for, while significantly upgrading the visual fidelity of its diverse landscapes.

Nvidia's raytracing showcase included the 12-second clip, highlighting the variety of environments players will traverse, ranging from opulent corridors to desolate craters. The teaser also features the Doom Slayer, equipped with a new shield. Nvidia's blog post confirmed the game's development using the latest idTech engine and its utilization of ray reconstruction on the new RTX 50 series PCs and laptops, promising a visually stunning experience.

Doom: The Dark Ages – A Visual Masterpiece

The Nvidia showcase concluded with previews of CD Projekt Red's upcoming Witcher sequel and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The latter, lauded for its visuals, combat, exploration, and voice acting, sets a high bar for graphical fidelity across PC and consoles. This showcase anticipates the release of Nvidia's GeForce RTX 50 series, which will empower developers to further enhance visual quality and performance.

While a precise release date remains unannounced, Doom: The Dark Ages is confirmed for launch on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC in 2025. Further details regarding the game's narrative, enemies, and intense combat are expected as 2025 progresses.
