NieR: Automata's opening introduces players to 2B's mission. After deploying and engaging in initial melee combat, you'll acquire a one-handed and a powerful two-handed sword – the Virtuous Treaty. Though temporarily lost after the prologue, this weapon is readily reacquired once free-roaming is unlocked in the subsequent chapter.
Where To Find the Virtuous Treaty in NieR: Automata
This early-game weapon is easily accessible near your starting point after exiting the bunker. Upon landing in the city ruins, descend to the lower area. Locate the highway to the left of the nearest access point. Proceed towards the highway, utilizing the ruins to climb and reach the main road. This path leads back towards the factory area.
Descend into the factory and follow the grassy path to the main structure. An access point and stairs leading upwards are situated on the left. At the top, locate the destroyed bridge (where you previously fought a Goliath-class enemy). The Virtuous Treaty is embedded in the ground at the bridge's edge, ready to be retrieved.
Your previous body lies just beyond the sword (to the right), allowing you to recover any remaining consumables from the prologue.
Virtuous Treaty Stats in NieR: Automata
- Attack: 300-330
- Combo: Light 2, Heavy 2
Typical of two-handed weapons, the Virtuous Treaty excels in wide-sweeping attacks, dealing significant damage to multiple enemies. However, its attack speed is notably slow. Upgrades can potentially maximize its damage output, provided you adapt to its slower pace. Combining it with a faster weapon via a heavy attack during a combo mitigates the speed drawback while still leveraging its high damage potential. While this won't allow a full combo with the Virtuous Treaty, it adds a powerful burst within a quicker attack sequence.
