Stardew Valley: A Comprehensive Guide to Crystalariums
While Stardew Valley emphasizes farming and animal husbandry, profit generation extends beyond crops and livestock. Gemstones, valuable for crafting and gifting, represent a significant income stream. However, consistent mining for rare gemstones can be inefficient. The Crystalarium offers a solution, enabling mass production of gemstones and minerals. This guide details its acquisition and usage, updated for Stardew Valley 1.6.
Acquiring a Crystalarium
The Crystalarium crafting recipe unlocks at Mining Skill Level 9. Required materials include:
- 99 Stone: Easily obtained by breaking rocks on your farm or in the Mines.
- 5 Gold Bars: Smelt Gold Ore (found at mine levels 80 and below) using Coal in a Furnace.
- 2 Iridium Bars: Mine Iridium in Skull Cavern or obtain it daily from the Statue of Perfection. Smelt Iridium Ore into bars using a Furnace.
- 1 Battery Pack: Obtain these by placing Lightning Rods outside during thunderstorms.
Alternative Acquisition Methods:
- Community Center Bundle: Complete the 25,000g bundle in the Vault section.
- Museum Donation: Donate at least 50 minerals (gemstones or geodes) to the Museum.
Utilizing the Crystalarium
Place your Crystalarium anywhere – indoors or outdoors. The Quarry is a popular location for mass production.
The Crystalarium replicates any mineral or gemstone (except Prismatic Shards). Quartz has the shortest growth time but low value. Diamonds offer the highest profit despite a 5-day production time.
To relocate a Crystalarium, hit it with an axe or pickaxe. If active, the current gemstone will drop. Changing the gemstone is simple: interact with the Crystalarium while holding the desired gemstone. The current gemstone will be ejected, and the new one will begin replicating.
By strategically using Crystalariums, you can significantly boost your income and enhance your relationships with Pelican Town's residents.
