Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
Becoming a Hollow in the Hollow Era
Your journey begins as a Soul Spirit, and you face a pivotal choice: transform into a Shinigami or a Hollow. Opting for the Hollow path requires you to break all the links on your chain, which will naturally break every two minutes, ensuring you'll become a Hollow even if you do nothing.

Warning: Embarking on the Hollow path can be more challenging and time-consuming than playing as a Shinigami. Hollows are undoubtedly cooler, but the journey to becoming a Vasto Lorde or Espada involves a lot of grinding and repetitive tasks.
Hollow Progression in the Hollow Era
Your first goal as a Hollow is to evolve into a Gillian. This requires grinding by killing other Hollows and consuming their parts. At level 15, you'll transform into a Gillian, but you can access the Hueco Mundo dimension at level 10, where finding and consuming Hollows becomes easier.
Keep in mind that as a Hollow, you'll face attacks from both Shinigami and other Hollows, unlike the Shinigami who are only targeted by Hollows. For a detailed Shinigami progression, check out our guide.
Gillian Form in the Hollow Era
As a Gillian, your mission is to continue eliminating Hollows and interact with Hollow Pillars in Hueco Mundo. Once you collect enough Progression Points, you'll be teleported to your inner world to defeat Hollows. Successfully complete this three times to evolve into an Adjucha.

Remember, the Hollows in your inner world are much tougher. Don't worry about dying, as you can retry as often as needed.
Adjucha Form in the Hollow Era
As an Adjucha, you face a crucial decision: progress towards becoming a Vasto Lorde or an Arrancar.

Arrancar Progression
To become an Arrancar, interact with a Crystal Bush in Hueco Mundo, which spawns every 30 to 60 minutes (average 45 minutes). Upon contact, you'll transform into an Arrancar and gain access to Hueco Mundo via a keybind. At level 50, you can start pursuing your Resurrección, but for now, Arrancars can only use Kendo skills.

Vasto Lorde Progression
To evolve into a Vasto Lorde, continue eliminating and devouring Hollows to earn Progression Points. Be cautious, as death will cost you 1% of your points. Many players remain stuck as Adjucha due to the grind. You'll need 800 Progression Points to become a Vasto Lorde, earned as follows:
Hollow: 1 Point
Gillian: 6 Points
Adjucha: 4 Points
Vasto Lorde: 8 Points
Arrancar: 8 Points
Espada: 10 Points
Vasto Lorde Form in the Hollow Era
Evolving into a Vasto Lorde is more challenging than becoming an Arrancar. You must collect 800 race Progression Points and gather all Hollow Items, which have random drop chances. Here's the list of Hollow Items by creature:
Hollows: Back Fins (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 HP regeneration), Fin Tail (Legendary, 1% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu regeneration and +1 Speed)
Gillian: Back Spikes (Rare, 10% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu)
Adjucha: Tail (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 Speed), Single Horn (Uncommon, 25% drop chance, +1 Strength), Double Horn (Rare, 10% drop chance, +2 Strength), Triple Horn (Epic, 5%, +3 Strength)
Vasto Lorde: Spiral Horn (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu)
Becoming Espada in the Hollow Era
If you choose the Vasto Lorde path, the next step is becoming an Espada. The process is similar to becoming an Arrancar: locate and interact with a Crystal Bush in Hueco Mundo.

To find a Crystal Bush easily, go to Hueco Mundo and adjust your settings to turn off Atmosphere, Bloom, and Depth of Field. Then, climb to a high vantage point to spot the bush.
How to Get Your Resurrección
Once you're an Arrancar or Espada, your ultimate goal is to obtain your Resurrección. Reach level 50, then head to Hueco Mundo and speak to Isen, the King of Hueco Mundo.
Screenshot by: The Escapist
Isen will task you with defeating 50 Arrancars. Upon completion, you can activate your Resurrección when your Rage Bar is full and pulsating. Fill your Rage Bar by dealing or receiving damage. The default keybind for Resurrección is "Y", and it deactivates when you run out of Reiatsu or Rage.

Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
Playing as a Hollow may seem cooler, but it's less versatile than playing as a Shinigami. Prepare for extensive grinding and be aware that you'll be attacked by both Hollows and Shinigami. Use the lockup button to focus on your primary enemy during combat, especially when the game lags. Learn how to block enemy attacks early on, as even low-level enemies can deal significant damage. When you die, you'll lose some money, and the trek back to your quest targets can be tedious. Consider investing in bus teleport to save time. When collecting Skill Points, prioritize Strength and Speed initially, as these are crucial for early game success. If you're lost, press and hold J (default keybind) to reveal markers around Karakura with your Reiatsu sense.
This concludes our Hollow Era Hollow progression guide. The game is still in development, so expect some bugs and lag, even on high-performance PCs. Before starting your adventure, use Hollow Era codes to give yourself a boost, as this game is challenging.
