In 2025, World of Warcraft players can look forward to the eagerly awaited housing system, with Blizzard unveiling the initial details. The developers have assured that homes will be accessible to all players without the need for complex prerequisites, exorbitant prices, or lotteries, and they won't be revoked due to a lapsed subscription. The complete rollout of this housing content is scheduled for the Midnight expansion.
Upon launch, players will have the opportunity to select a plot in one of two designated zones: for the Alliance, in Elwynn Forest with touches from Westfall and Duskwood, or for the Horde, in Durotar with influences from Azshara and the Durotar coastline.
Each zone will be segmented into districts, each hosting around 50 houses. Players can opt to reside in either an open area or a private community alongside friends and guildmates. The developers are committed to offering a broad spectrum of decoration options for customization—most of these will be accessible in-game, with select items available in the shop.
Blizzard has highlighted that the housing system is designed around three core principles: extensive customization, fostering social interaction, and ensuring longevity. The developers plan to release more information about the housing system in the future and are keen to hear players' feedback and ideas at this early stage.
