Baldur's Gate III's eighth and potentially final major patch is undergoing its stress test. While some Sony console players received early access, players who haven't already participated are advised to reinstall the game for optimal testing.
Patch 8 introduces highly anticipated cross-platform play between PC and consoles. Players with linked Larian accounts can team up regardless of platform. Remarkably, modded gameplay is also supported across platforms, provided all mods used by the PC player are available on Mac and consoles, and the host's game doesn't exceed ten mods.
Xbox Series S users will be thrilled to learn that split-screen co-op is finally being tested, a feature previously unavailable on this console.
Further enhancements in Patch 8 include a fully customizable photo mode and twelve new subclasses, adding depth and replayability. While Larian has addressed numerous bugs and rebalanced game elements, some issues persist. A comprehensive changelog detailing all stress test modifications is available on the official game page.
