Atomfall: A New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England
Rebellion Developments, famed for the Sniper Elite series, ventures into new territory with Atomfall, a first-person survival game set in a chilling alternate 1960s England, ravaged by nuclear catastrophe. A recent seven-minute gameplay trailer offers a substantial glimpse into this post-apocalyptic world.
The trailer establishes the game's setting: a bleak landscape of quarantine zones, deserted villages, and abandoned research bunkers. Fans of titles like Fallout and STALKER will find familiar elements in Atomfall's survival mechanics, emphasizing resource scavenging and perilous encounters with hostile robots and cultists.
The gameplay showcased a blend of melee and ranged combat. While the weaponry initially appears rudimentary (a cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, and bolt-action rifle), the trailer highlights upgrade systems, promising a wider arsenal to discover. Crafting plays a crucial role, allowing players to create healing items and explosive tools such as Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in locating hidden supplies and crafting materials. Furthermore, players can enhance their capabilities by unlocking skills categorized into melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning.
Initially revealed during Xbox's Summer Game Fest showcase, Atomfall will launch on March 27th for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. Rebellion plans to release an additional in-depth video soon, promising further details for eager players. Keep an eye on Rebellion's social media channels for updates.
