Application Description
Unleash your creativity with ArtClash, a unique platform designed to inspire daily drawing, sketching, and cartooning. Unlike Sketchbook, Photoshop, Procreate, or Infinite Painter, ArtClash focuses on fostering a community of artists through engaging, interactive challenges.
As a work in progress, ArtClash has already launched its first game, with more exciting features on the horizon. Whether you choose to free draw or tackle a series of topics with optional constraints like time limits, color restrictions, or canvas size, you can earn points based on how well others guess your creations.
Created by a single developer for personal and community use, ArtClash encourages daily practice and sharing among artists. Here are the current features you can explore:
- Paint: Sketch, paint, and blend to your heart's content.
- Import Images: Use them as references or paint directly over them.
- Topics and Constraints: Select from various topics and difficulty levels, and apply constraints for extra points.
- Difficulty Levels: Choose from 6 levels, ranging from single words to combinations of up to 5 different words (nouns, verbs, places, time periods).
- Constraints: Opt for time limits, color limits, or canvas size constraints to challenge yourself.
- Free Draw: Create anything you want and share it with the community.
- NSFW Flag: Choose whether to view images marked as NSFW.
While ArtClash is in early access, there are a few known issues and bugs:
- Ugly UI: The current Unity UI is being replaced with XAML for improved responsiveness and aesthetics.
- Performance Issues: Keep canvases under 1024x1024 on lower-end devices due to the GPU-accelerated brush engine. Future optimizations are planned.
Exciting upcoming features include:
- More Games: Starting with a "telephone" game using drawings.
- Social Features: Enhanced social interactions like changing avatars, adding comments, and connecting with friends and followers.
- Improved UI and Brush Engine: Addressing current issues for a smoother experience.
- Marquee Selection and Transform Tools: For more precise editing.
- Expanded Brush Library: More brushes and the ability for users to create and share their own.
- Enhanced Layer System: Including options to lock transparent pixels and create masks.
- Developer Communication: A feedback system for feature requests, bug reports, and voting on future changes.
- Moderators: Community members can be promoted to help moderate flagged content.
- User-Submitted Topics and Constraints: Allowing community input after moderation.
- Future Capabilities: Full image editing, animation, scripting, and game/storyboard prototyping.
While ArtClash currently lacks some full image editing features and has performance limitations with large textures, it is optimized for social competition and encouragement, making it a unique tool for artists looking to improve their skills and connect with others.
