Application Description

Pesten With Cards, a classic Dutch card game literally translating to "Bullying with Cards," offers a thrilling card-shedding experience. Similar games exist worldwide, including Mau-Mau, Crazy Eights, and Uno. The objective? Be the first to discard all your cards. A crucial rule: shout "Last Card!" before playing your final card; forgetting this incurs a two-card penalty.

The game supports multiple decks, including Jokers. Each player receives seven cards, with the remainder forming the draw pile. Gameplay begins with revealing the top card of the draw pile. Players take turns (clockwise) playing cards matching either the number or suit of the top card. Jokers and Jacks are exceptions, playable on any card. Unable to play? Draw a card from the pile; if playable, you can choose to play it immediately.

The "Last Card" Rule: With one card remaining, click the "Last Card" button. Failing to do so before playing your last card results in a two-card penalty. Incorrectly using the button also incurs a penalty. The button can be pressed preemptively. Note: Special cards (detailed below) cannot be your winning card.

Special Cards and Their Effects: Card actions vary regionally; configure these in the game's options to match your preferred ruleset. These actions are available:

• Joker: The next player draws five cards. Subsequent Jokers add another five cards each. Drawing cards prevents immediate gameplay.
• Two: The next player draws two cards. Subsequent Twos add two cards each. Optionally, a Joker can be played on a Two (adding five cards). A Two cannot be played on a Joker. Drawing cards prevents immediate gameplay.
• Seven: The current player must immediately play another card. The "Last Card" rule applies. Inability to play results in drawing a card.
• Eight: The next player skips their turn. In two-player games, this allows the current player another turn.
• Ten: Each player passes a card to the player on their left.
