Potch is the in-game currency. The Fortune Orb doubles the experience gained by the character holding it, while the Prosperity Orb doubles the currency earned from battles. Note that the main character of the first Suikoden game can't hold both orbs simultaneously.
The original Suikoden game was released in Japan for the PlayStation in 1995, with its sequel following in 1998. Both games reached Western audiences a year later. The series is renowned for its unique mechanic of recruiting 108 warriors to build an army and combat evil forces.
