The game is set in a post-apocalyptic New Eridu, the last human city after a cataclysmic event known as the Hollows. Players assume the role of a "Proxy," exploring this urban landscape. A departure from MiHoYo's usual sci-fi and fantasy settings, Zenless Zone Zero has the potential to be the studio's most successful title yet.

Launching on July 4th, Zenless Zone Zero joins MiHoYo's impressive portfolio, built on the phenomenal success of Genshin Impact. The studio's trajectory has been upward ever since.

Zenless Zone Zero distinguishes itself with its urban fantasy setting, a contrast to the sci-fi and fantasy worlds of Honkai and Genshin Impact. The livestream highlighted the game's emphasis on music, showcasing gameplay and new areas with a musical performance.
