Wuthering Waves' elemental system has evolved significantly with Version 2.0. Initially, elements provided character buffs and enemy resistances, lacking deep synergistic reactions. The update introduces Elemental Effects, allowing for more direct interactions beyond passive enhancements.
Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs:
While elemental effects existed previously (primarily applied by enemies), Version 2.0 expands their role. Each element now has a unique status effect:
Elemental Effect |
Effect Description |
Havoc Bane |
Stacks periodically, up to 2. At 2 stacks, deals Havoc DMG and reapplies to nearby characters. |
Glacio Chafe |
Reduces movement speed per stack, freezing at 10 stacks. Players can "Struggle" to shorten freeze duration. |
Spectro Frazzle |
Stacks decrease to deal Spectro DMG over time. More stacks = more DMG. |
Fusion Burst |
Stacks up to 10, exploding at max stacks for significant Fusion DMG. |
Aero Erosion |
Deals Aero DMG periodically; stacks don't deplete to deal DMG. More stacks = more DMG over time. |
Electro Flare |
Reduces ATK based on stacks: 1-4 (-5%), 5-9 (-7% + Magnetized effect), 10 (-10%). |
Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets:
Currently, Elemental Effect utilization is limited. Only a few Resonators, Echoes, and Echo sets interact with these effects:
- Resonators Applying Elemental Effects: Spectro Rover, post-Version 2.0 rework, uniquely applies Spectro Frazzle (2 stacks) via its Resonating Spin Resonance Skill. This skill also applies Shimmer, preventing stack decay.
- Echoes and Echo Sets: The Eternal Radiance Echo set enhances Spectro DMG and Crit Rate based on Spectro Frazzle stacks. The Nightmare Echo increases DMG against enemies with Spectro Frazzle. These are currently only beneficial to Spectro Rover.
In summary, while Elemental Effects are a new focus, their implementation is currently limited, primarily benefiting Spectro Rover. Future updates may expand their use across more characters and game mechanics.
