Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo has launched another thrilling addition to the musou genre with Warriors: Abyss, available as of today. This new roguelite game brings together beloved characters from the Warriors series, offering a fresh take on the genre.
Showcased at today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to form a squad and battle through hordes of enemies in an isometric view, drawing inspiration from games like Diablo and the critically acclaimed Hades. Players will navigate through the depths of "hell," facing off against demonic foes along the way.
The game features iconic characters from the Warriors franchise, including Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sunshang Xiang, as seen in today's reveal footage. According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and add these characters to their team, utilizing their unique summoning abilities. At launch, gamers can command up to seven active heroes from a roster of 100 warriors.
Koei Tecmo has plans to expand the character lineup post-launch, starting with additions from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. The developer hinted at future waves of characters, including potential inclusions from beyond the Warriors series.
Warriors: Abyss is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. It will also launch on Nintendo Switch on February 13, 2025. Fans eager to snag the in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set should purchase the game before March 14, 2025.
