Nintendo is set to enhance the Nintendo Switch Online library with the beloved Game Boy Advance classic, Wario Land 4, available starting February 14. This exciting addition comes at no additional cost to subscribers who have a Nintendo Switch Online membership and have purchased the Expansion Pass.
In Wario Land 4, players will once again follow the adventures of the treasure-seeking Wario. As detailed in the game's synopsis, "The misguided Wario is back, and this time he's in search of riches. Ignoring all warning signs, Wario decides to enter a cursed pyramid that's rumored to house a bunch of gold and jewels. Our anti-hero quickly learns that the curse is no joke, realizing that he'll be lucky to escape alive."
The game boasts 20 expansive stages, each filled with challenges and treasures. Players can use the gold and jewels they collect to buy bonus items after completing each stage. Additionally, the game offers a variety of engaging mini-games, providing a fun break from the main adventure.
Upon its initial release in 2001, Wario Land 4 received high praise, scoring a 9/10 from IGN. The review highlighted the game's diverse design and increased challenge, noting, "There's a lot of variety in the game design and it's more challenging than the usual side-scrolling fare due to its focus on making players figure out how to get to certain locations in the level."
With Wario Land 4, the Nintendo Switch Online library now includes 24 Game Boy Advance titles. This impressive lineup already features fan favorites such as Mario Kart: Super Circuit, The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap, and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, among others.
