The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Premiere Date Revealed at IGN Fan Fest 2025
IGN Fan Fest 2025 delivered an exclusive premiere date announcement for The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2: May 4, 2025. The announcement included an exclusive clip and interviews with Scott Gimple (Chief Content Officer of The Walking Dead Universe), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan).
Cohan offered insight into Maggie's emotional state heading into Season 2, hinting at familiar family struggles amidst the apocalyptic backdrop: "Sadly, not everything is rosy. My son's a teenager, Ginny's a teenage girl – the usual family dynamics are playing out, on top of survival concerns."
Morgan discussed Negan's precarious position, now under the control of The Dama and The Croat: "He's in a tough spot, not enjoying it. He's always scheming, but he's really up against it this season." He also reflected on his iconic weapon, Lucille: "I love that thing! It brings back fond memories...not for Lauren!"
Gimple teased the season's central conflict: "There's no single big bad. It's a shifting power dynamic, more complex, more political, and then it gets physical."
IGN also premiered the opening minutes of Season 2's first episode.
The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 premieres on AMC May 4, 2025. Stay tuned for more news from IGN Fan Fest 2025.
