Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has faced yet another delay, pushing its release to October 2025. This latest postponement, though smaller in scope compared to previous delays, was quietly announced in a recent game update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room. The new release date is a few months later than the previously planned launch in the first half of the year, but it comes with the assurance that the game is now complete.
“The status of the game right now is that the game is done,” stated Marco Behrmann, Executive Producer of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. “We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases.”
Despite the disappointment of another delay, the update video brings some positive news. The Chinese Room has enhanced the game with additional content, deeper narrative elements, and improved character development. Fans can also look forward to an “evolved role” for the character Fabien in the storyline. However, the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter account has indicated that future updates will be less frequent.
The journey of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been fraught with challenges since its announcement in 2019 by developer Hardsuit Labs, with an initial launch window set for Q1 2020. Subsequent delays pushed the release to late 2020, then to 2021, accompanied by layoffs at Hardsuit in March 2021. A significant change occurred in 2023 when Hardsuit was replaced by The Chinese Room, aiming for a 2024 release. Now, after one more delay, the game is slated for October 2025.
With the history of delays, there remains uncertainty about whether Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will finally captivate players this fall. However, The Chinese Room remains confident. Looking ahead, Paradox has hinted that, should Bloodlines 2 achieve a successful launch, a different developer will take on the challenge of creating Bloodlines 3.
