Happy New Year! Welcome to 2025! Another trip around the sun successfully completed. Let's dive into the exciting video game releases slated for this year.
January 2025
Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Tecmo Koei's *Dynasty Warriors: Origins*, the first mainline entry since 2018, storms onto PS5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC on January 17th. Expect current-gen visuals and the signature exhilarating, enemy-slaughtering gameplay. Prepare to shout "DIE, NASTY WARRIORS!"
If long-range sniping is more your style, Sniper Elite: Resistance arrives on January 30th for all major consoles and PC. This latest installment continues the series' tradition of… well, let's just say you'll be shooting Nazis in very specific places. You've been warned (and possibly excited).
February 2025
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
On February 11th, *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* continues Henry of Skalitz's adventures in 14th-century Bohemia. This historically-inspired RPG offers deep role-playing and a massive open world.
That same day, Sid Meier's Civilization VII launches across nearly every platform (except mobile, for now). Need we say more? Guide your civilization through the ages, exploring, expanding, exploiting, and… well, you know the rest.
February 14th brings a double dose of gaming fun: Assassin's Creed Shadows transports the franchise to feudal Japan, letting you play as both a ninja and a samurai (PS5, Xbox Series, and PC). And if you're feeling lonely on Valentine's Day, Date Everything! offers a unique dating simulator experience with 100+ fully-voiced inanimate objects. (PS5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC).
Monster Hunter Wilds
Obsidian's *Avowed* (February 18th, Xbox Series and PC) brings a first-person perspective to the *Pillars of Eternity* universe, promising a more focused RPG experience than some of its predecessors.
For pirate-themed action, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii (February 21st, Xbox, PlayStation, and PC) features Goro Majima's amnesiac adventures as a swashbuckling pirate.
And finally, capping off the month, Monster Hunter Wilds (February 28th, Xbox Series, PS5, and PC) aims to refine the core Monster Hunter experience while adding new features for both veterans and newcomers.
March 2025
Split Fiction
Hazelight Studios returns with *Split Fiction* (March 6th, PC and current-gen consoles), a co-op adventure promising bizarre and hilarious scenarios. One copy unlocks two-player online fun.
For a more tranquil experience, Tales of the Shire (March 25th, PS5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC) offers a cozy life sim focusing on the everyday lives of hobbits in Middle-earth.
Atomfall
If post-apocalyptic survival is your thing, *Atomfall* (March 27th, all platforms except Switch) blends *Fallout* and *Stalker* influences in a harsh, radioactive world.
Also on March 27th, The First Berserker: Khazan, a single-player action RPG based on the Dungeon Fighter Online universe, hits Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
And finally, a potential Sims-killer emerges: inZOI (March 28th, PC, with console versions planned later) is a visually stunning life sim that could redefine the genre.
April 2025
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
*Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves* (April 24th, PlayStation, Xbox Series, and PC) marks the return of the classic fighting game franchise after a long hiatus. Let's hope it lives up to the hype!
