Fueling the fire of long-standing rumors, Singapore's rating board has officially rated "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4" for release in 2025. This rumored remake, encompassing the next two core entries in the beloved franchise, is slated for a wide array of platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
While official confirmation remains elusive, a countdown timer nestled within Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 hints at an imminent Tony Hawk's Pro Skater announcement, culminating on March 4, 2025. Adding to the speculation, Tony Hawk himself recently revealed on Mythical Kitchen that he's been in discussions with Activision, teasing a project that "fans will truly appreciate."
The success of the 2020 Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 remake made a sequel encompassing games 3 and 4 seem inevitable. However, the 2021 absorption of Vicarious Visions (the original remake's developer) into Blizzard introduced a significant hurdle. This acquisition shifted Vicarious Visions' focus to Blizzard projects, leaving the future of the THPS remakes uncertain.
According to Tony Hawk, plans to tackle 3+4 immediately following 1+2 were in place until Vicarious Visions' integration. Activision subsequently sought out other developers, soliciting pitches for the project, but ultimately found none that met their standards. "They just didn’t really trust anyone the way they did Vicarious," Hawk explained in a 2022 Twitch livestream.
The mystery remains: who is developing this seemingly imminent Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 remake? The Singaporean rating only lists Activision as both publisher and developer. All signs point to March 4th as the date for further revelations.
