Nintendo Switch 2 Features The New C Button

With the Nintendo Switch 2 set to launch in 2025 and a Direct scheduled for today, April 2nd, the anticipation among fans is reaching a fever pitch. Nintendo might have given us a sneak peek at what's to come with the Switch 2, even before the Direct.
Nintendo has recently launched a new smartphone app, Nintendo Today, designed to deliver the latest news and game information directly to players. Observant fans noticed that the app's listings on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store included promotional images, one of which boldly stated, "Get updates on Nintendo Switch 2 news plus game info, videos, comics, and more every day."

A closer look at the image from the Nintendo Today app reveals what appears to be the final design of the Nintendo Switch 2. This includes the newly designed Joycons and the much-talked-about C button on the right Joycon.
In the initial teaser for the Switch 2 back in January, the button below the Home button was a mysterious black square, sparking speculation about its function—ranging from a new social feature to a sensor. Thanks to the image on the Nintendo Today app, it's now confirmed to be a C button. While its exact purpose remains a mystery, we can expect a full reveal during the upcoming Nintendo Direct.
