Speculation about Starfield's potential release on PlayStation 5 intensified over the weekend when fans noticed a PlayStation logo on Bethesda's official Creations website. The logo was linked to a work-in-progress ship decals Creation for Starfield, which was subsequently removed. Despite this, fans are buzzing with the possibility that Bethesda’s sci-fi title, currently exclusive to PC and Xbox, might soon be available on PS5.
They have added the Playstation logo to a creation. (I think they are beta testers, the logo only appears on one creation)

The discovery has sparked discussions about whether Bethesda is planning a major content update or a new expansion to coincide with a PS5 release. The excitement comes on the heels of the poorly received Shattered Space expansion, and with Bethesda's parent company, Microsoft, gearing up for another summer showcase, fans are hopeful for more news on Starfield.
Bethesda has teased "exciting things" for Starfield this year, amidst growing player frustration over communication and updates. In June 2024, Bethesda reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Starfield, promising at least one more story expansion following Shattered Space. In an interview with YouTube channel MrMattyPlays, Bethesda Game Studios' Todd Howard mentioned plans to release annual story expansions for "hopefully a very long time."

Starfield debuted in September 2023 as Bethesda's first new intellectual property in years and the first mainline single-player game since Microsoft's acquisition of ZeniMax Media in March 2021. IGN's review gave Starfield a 7/10, praising its expansive roleplaying quests and solid combat, despite some challenges.
In January, Microsoft's gaming chief, Phil Spencer, hinted at the possibility of Starfield coming to PS5. Reports from as early as March 2024 suggested that both Starfield and MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle were being considered for PS5. While Indiana Jones was confirmed for a PS5 release in spring 2025, Starfield has yet to be officially announced for the platform, though Spencer's comments keep the door open.
Several Xbox titles are already available on PS5, including Sea of Thieves by Rare, Hi-Fi Rush by Tango Gameworks, and Grounded and Pentiment by Obsidian. Microsoft also publishes Minecraft on PlayStation and plans to release Doom: The Dark Ages and Ninja Gaiden 4 on PS5 later this year. Additionally, Forza Horizon 5 by Playground is set to come to PS5 soon, and there are rumors that Halo might finally break its Xbox exclusivity.

Spencer has explained that Xbox's multiplatform strategy is partly driven by the need to increase revenue for Microsoft's gaming division, especially after the massive $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard. He emphasized the high expectations within Microsoft and the importance of delivering strong games across console, PC, and cloud platforms.
“It’s a business,” Spencer stated last August. “The bar is high for us at Microsoft in terms of what we need to deliver. We receive incredible support from the company, which allows us to achieve great things. My focus is on making our games as strong as possible and continuing to grow our platform across all these areas.”
Bethesda Game Studios, with its 450-strong team, is currently juggling multiple projects including Starfield, Elder Scrolls 6, Fallout 76, mobile games, and external development partnerships, making it a busy time for the studio.
