The new year in Pokémon GO is bringing trainers a wealth of new Pokémon! Following Fidough's arrival, Shroodle is making its debut – but unlike many recent additions, acquiring it isn't straightforward.
Shroodle's Pokémon GO Arrival
The Toxic Mouse Pokémon, Shroodle, enters Pokémon GO on January 15, 2025, as part of the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. Originating from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, it's a relatively new addition to the Pokémon world. Post-event, Shroodle will remain available.
Shiny Shroodle?
Unlike some recent releases, Shroodle will not be available in its Shiny form at launch. Expect its Shiny variant to appear in a future event, possibly a Poison-type or Team GO Rocket focused event.
Catching Shroodle

Breaking from the usual wild spawns, Shroodle is exclusively obtainable by hatching 12KM Eggs. This method is currently the only way to acquire Shroodle. Eggs collected from 12 AM local time on January 15th onwards have a chance to hatch into Shroodle. Its hatch rate will likely be higher during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event.
Acquiring 12KM Eggs
Given Shroodle's exclusive hatching method, here's a reminder on obtaining 12KM Eggs: They are a rare egg type, only obtainable by defeating Team GO Rocket Leaders (Sierra, Arlo, Cliff) or Giovanni. The Taken Over event provides an ideal opportunity to stockpile 12KM Eggs due to increased Team GO Rocket activity and easier Rocket Radar acquisition. However, you can battle GO Rocket Grunts to challenge the leaders at any time, provided you have inventory space.
Grafaiai Acquisition

Shroodle's evolution, Grafaiai, also arrives on January 15th. Unlike Shroodle, it cannot be hatched or found in the wild; evolution is the sole method of acquisition. Evolution requires 50 Shroodle Candy, necessitating multiple Shroodle hatches or using a Shroodle as your buddy Pokémon.
