After two failed launches and months of anticipation, Rune Slayer has arrived, and it's fantastic! While incredibly fun, the game has a steep learning curve, especially for MMORPG newcomers. Fear not, this guide will help you embark on your Rune Slayer adventure smoothly.

These tips would have made our early game significantly easier.
Don't Randomly Attack Other Players
Screenshot by The EscapistInitial concerns about *Rune Slayer*'s full-loot PvP proved largely unfounded. Death doesn't mean losing your items, even when killed by other players—you simply respawn. However, attacking players incurs a bounty. More kills mean a larger bounty, resulting in greater item loss upon your own death. Therefore, avoid attacking players unless you have a compelling reason or a strong group backing you.
Craft Bags Immediately
Screenshot by The EscapistLimited bank and inventory space is a common early-game hurdle. Fortunately, crafting bags expands this. The initial Cotton Bag provides 10 extra slots. Gather Cotton north of Wayshire and Flax south (beware of tougher mobs in the south) to craft these essential upgrades immediately.
Your Pets Don't Actually Die
Screenshot by The EscapistContrary to initial impressions, your pets don't perish permanently. After reaching zero health, they have a five-minute summon cooldown. Check this cooldown by holding T. To quickly heal your pet, store and unstore it at the stable master (you have one free slot).
Accept Every Quest
Screenshot by The Escapist*Rune Slayer* boasts numerous quests, many of the "kill X" variety. To streamline progression, accept every quest you encounter, including those from the job board. Often, quests can be combined, making this approach far more efficient.
Craft Everything at Least Once
Screenshot by The EscapistWhile prioritizing needed items, craft anything with spare materials. Initial crafting often unlocks new, more powerful crafting recipes (for example, crafting Iron Ore unlocks new Iron Armor recipes). Don't hoard materials; craft freely.
Join a Guild
Rune Slayer is solo-friendly, but tougher enemies later in the game often require group effort. Joining a guild is the easiest way to find groups. Use the in-game chat or the official Rune Slayer Discord server to find a suitable guild.
