Experience Will's Journey in Manga Form

Metaphor enthusiasts are in for a special delight as the inaugural chapter of the official Metaphor: ReFantazio manga hits the MANGA Plus website, free for all to enjoy. Atlus has teamed up with the renowned manga publisher Shueisha to bring this adaptation to life, illustrated by the talented Japanese manga artist Yōichi Amano, known for works like Akaboshi: Ibun Suikoden and Stealth Symphony.

The manga introduces some creative changes from the video game's storyline, notably altering the opening sequence. Key modifications in the first chapter include the exclusion of a specific starting area and the introduction of new events that diverge from the game's original narrative. It also reshapes the protagonist's initial interactions with allies. Notably, the manga confirms the protagonist's name as Will, aligning with the default name provided in the game.

Mark your calendars: the next chapter is set to release on February 19th, coinciding with its Japanese debut.

Metaphor: ReFantazio Earns Acclaim and Accolades

Metaphor: ReFantazio Manga Releases First Chapter

Metaphor: ReFantazio marks Atlus' latest intellectual property, crafted by Studio Zero under the leadership of Katsura Hashino, the acclaimed director and producer behind Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5. The story follows protagonist Will and his fairy companion Gallica on their quest to rescue the prince of the United Kingdom of Euchronia from a cursed fate.

Amidst their journey, the kingdom faces turmoil following the assassination of the king, leaving no clear leader. In his final moments, the king expresses his wish for the people to choose their new ruler, drawing Will into a grander narrative than he could have ever imagined.

The game achieved phenomenal success, selling over one million copies worldwide on its launch day, surpassing Atlus' previous record holder, Persona 3: Reload, released earlier in 2024. Metaphor: ReFantazio has garnered widespread acclaim, securing top scores and winning multiple awards at the 2024 The Game Awards, including Best RPG, Best Art Direction, and Best Narrative.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is available to play on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S.
