Navigating Hyper Light Breaker's sprawling, Synthwave-infused Overgrowth can feel like a chore. But fear not! From the very beginning, you have access to a secret weapon: the Hoverboard. While not explicitly explained, this essential tool dramatically boosts your traversal speed, transforming long journeys into quick sprints. This guide will show you how to use it and unlock its full potential.

How To Summon A Hoverboard In Hyper Light Breaker

Summoning your Hoverboard is surprisingly simple. Just hold down the Dodge button. Your Breaker will dash forward, seamlessly transitioning onto the Hoverboard as long as you maintain the Dodge input.

Controlling the Hoverboard is intuitive. Using the left analog stick gently steers you; leaning into a turn is more effective at slower speeds. To dismount, simply release the Dodge button. Alternatively, the Hoverboard will automatically deactivate if your Energy depletes. Keep an eye on your Energy meter (located next to your Breaker's companion) to avoid unexpected dismounts. Remember to take short breaks to replenish your Energy.

Hoverboard Movement Tips & Special Uses

While the Hoverboard doesn't offer tricks or combat capabilities, its unique properties significantly enhance gameplay. Most notably, it effortlessly glides across water, eliminating the need to navigate around rivers and inlets. The Hoverboard functions identically on both land and water; simply maintain your Hoverboard as you enter the water.

While riding, you can hold the Jump button to crouch, improving the accuracy of your jumps. Although this doesn't increase your jump height or speed, it aids in precise timing for challenging leaps. Remember, you can't double-jump while on the Hoverboard.
