'Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2' Surges with 2 Million Sales in Less Than 2 Weeks

Feb 23,2025 Author: Simon

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's phenomenal success continues unabated, surpassing 2 million copies sold in under two weeks!

Warhorse Studios, the developer, announced this impressive milestone on Twitter, celebrating the sequel's "triumph," echoing their earlier celebration of reaching 1 million sales just one day after launch.

This remarkable achievement for Warhorse Studios' medieval RPG sequel, released February 4th on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, is truly noteworthy.

Embracer Group, Warhorse Studios' parent company, highlighted the game's exceptional performance on Steam, boasting over 250,000 peak concurrent players. This significantly eclipses the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance's peak of 96,069 concurrent players seven years prior. The actual peak player count is likely even higher, considering console sales, though precise figures remain undisclosed by Sony and Microsoft.

Embracer lauded Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's "initial success," encompassing player and critical reception, as well as sales figures. CEO Lars Wingefors attributed this success to the dedication of Warhorse Studios and publisher Deep Silver, expressing confidence in continued strong revenue generation over the coming years. He highlighted the game's quality, immersive experience, and broad appeal. A robust roadmap, including updates and new content throughout the next year, ensures ongoing engagement with the player community.

Wingefors expressed immense pride in the teams involved, emphasizing the game's significant outperformance of initial expectations.

The post-launch roadmap for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 includes three expansions slated for 2025. Spring will bring free updates, including a barbershop feature with enhanced customization, Hardcore Mode, and Horse Racing. Summer will see the release of the first paid DLC, "Brushes with Death," featuring protagonist Henry assisting an artist with a mysterious past. Autumn introduces the "Legacy of the Forge" expansion, delving into Henry's past through his adoptive father Martin's history. Finally, winter brings "Mysteria Ecclesia," where Henry undertakes a covert mission within the Sedlec Monastery.
