Crossplay is finally coming to Baldur's Gate 3! Patch 8, slated for release sometime in 2025, will introduce this highly anticipated feature. Before the full launch, however, Larian Studios is conducting a Patch 8 Stress Test in January 2025, giving select players early access to crossplay and other new features.
When Will Crossplay Arrive?
While a firm release date for Patch 8 is yet to be announced, the January 2025 Stress Test will offer a sneak peek at crossplay functionality. This test period allows Larian to identify and resolve any potential bugs before the official rollout.
How to Participate in the Stress Test:
To join the Patch 8 Stress Test and experience crossplay early, register through Larian's Stress Test Registration form. You'll need a Larian account; create one or log in if you already have one. The registration process is simple and quick, requiring basic player information, including your chosen platform (PC, PlayStation, or Xbox).
Important Note: Registration doesn't guarantee selection. Those chosen will receive an email with further instructions and access details. Selected participants can provide feedback via feedback forms and Discord.
The Stress Test will also assess the compatibility of the new patch with various mods. Mod users and creators are encouraged to participate to ensure smooth functionality after the full patch release.
Remember: Crossplay requires all players in your group to be part of the Stress Test. Otherwise, you'll need to wait for the broader release in 2025.
The addition of crossplay is a significant step for Baldur's Gate 3, uniting players across different platforms and further enriching the already thriving community. Get ready to explore Faerûn with friends, regardless of their console or PC preference!
