Supergiant Games has unleashed its first major update, "The Olympic Update," introducing a wealth of new content and refinements. The developers plan to closely monitor player feedback to ensure optimal game balance. This substantial update includes a new region, weapon, characters, animal familiars, and more.

Key features of the "Olympic Update" include:

• New Region: Mount Olympus: Explore the mythical home of the gods, facing new challenges and uncovering a deeper narrative.
• New Weapon: Xinth, the Black Coat: Master a powerful new weapon, the last of the Nocturnal Arms.
• New Characters & Familiars: Forge alliances with two new allies and bond with two new animal companions.
• Crossroads Enhancements: Customize the Crossroads with dozens of new cosmetic items.
• Expanded Narrative: Immerse yourself in hours of new dialogue and story developments.
• Improved World Map: Navigate the game world with a redesigned world map interface.
• Mac Support: Native support for macOS on Apple M1 chips and later.

Currently in early access, Hades 2 has already garnered praise for its replayability and substantial content. This update further expands the game's depth, introducing a new region, Olympus, and escalating the stakes as the story progresses.

Significant improvements have been made to Melinoe's abilities and responsiveness, while enemies have received adjustments to enhance the challenge. Nocturnal Arms and Abilities, such as the Witch's Staff, Sister Blades, Umbral Flames, and Moonstone Axe Specials, have been refined for improved player agency. Melinoe's Dash is now faster and more responsive.

The update also includes enemy adjustments across various regions:

• Chronos: Reduced downtime between phases; minor adjustments.
• Eris: Various adjustments, including a less fire-prone behavior.
• Infernal Beast: Resurfaces sooner in the first phase; minor adjustments.
• Polyphemus: No longer summons Elite foes; other minor adjustments.
• Charybdis: Reduced number of phases; increased attack intensity and reduced downtime.
• Headmistress Hecate: Loses invulnerability sooner after her Sisters of the Dead are defeated.
• Ranged Enemies: Reduced simultaneous attacks.
• Numerous other minor combat adjustments.

The full release of Hades 2, including console versions, is anticipated for next year.
