Path of Exile 2: Uncover the Hidden Golden Idols for a Generous Gold Reward
Path of Exile 2 features numerous quests, some less obvious than others. Act 3 introduces a unique collectible: Golden Idols. These aren't logged as typical quests; instead of advancing a storyline, they offer a significant gold reward.
After exploring the Vaal ruins beneath the Ziggurat Encampment and traveling through a time portal, you'll find yourself in Utzaal, the Drowned City (in its past glory). Scattered throughout Utzaal and the connected area, Aggorat, are five Golden Idols. They're not enemy drops; instead, they're located on the ground or pedestals, often in side rooms.

Once collected, these idols aren't used in any quest. Instead, return to the Ziggurat Encampment and speak to Oswald (located in the north). He'll buy them from you at the following prices:
Finding all five yields a tidy 6000 gold. Since they occupy inventory space, it's best to sell them to Oswald immediately after discovery.
