Sega's Unexpected Announcement: No Football Manager 2025
Sega and Sports Interactive have delivered surprising news to Football Manager fans: there will be no new installment for the 2025 season. The companies issued an official statement announcing the cancellation and promising full refunds for all pre-orders.
The reason? The game, already subject to two delays, was deemed too incomplete for release. While developers had promised a significant technological upgrade, they ultimately couldn't meet their ambitious goals. This frank admission is a refreshing change from some other sports game franchises known for minimal updates between releases.
However, this news is still a setback for many. The developers also confirmed that Football Manager 24 will receive no updates for the new season. This is particularly disappointing for players who have, in the past, leveraged their in-game success to secure real-world positions in football clubs. For the next year, only the outdated FM24 will be available.
