Final Fantasy 14 Dataminer Reveals the Chattiest Character in the Game

Final Fantasy XIV's Most Loquacious Characters Revealed

A comprehensive analysis of dialogue across all Final Fantasy XIV expansions, from A Realm Reborn to Dawntrail, has yielded a surprising result: Alphinaud boasts the most lines. This discovery has stunned many veteran players. Despite significant screen time primarily in Dawntrail, Wuk Lamat surprisingly secured third place. As expected, Urianger's most frequent words are "tis," "thou," and "Loporrits."

This extensive undertaking, encompassing over a decade of FFXIV content, involved meticulously cataloging dialogue from each expansion. The results, posted by Reddit user turn_a_blind_eye, detail the top speakers in each expansion and their most common words, culminating in an overall game-wide analysis.

Alphinaud's dominance is unsurprising, given his pivotal role throughout the game's history. However, Wuk Lamat's strong showing, placing above established favorites like Y'shtola and Thancred, is more unexpected. This is largely attributed to the character-driven narrative of Dawntrail. Another relatively new character, Zero, also made the top 20 overall, surpassing even the popular antagonist Emet-Selch in dialogue count.

Urianger's linguistic quirks provide amusing insight into his personality. His frequent use of archaic terms and the repeated mention of "Loporrits" (the moon rabbits introduced in Endwalker) reflect his close association with them throughout the expansion and subsequent quests.

Looking ahead, 2025 promises exciting developments for FFXIV. Patch 7.2 is anticipated early in the year, with Patch 7.3 expected to bring a conclusive end to the Dawntrail storyline.
