预告片中，日本演员竹内凉真饰演标志性的桐生一马，角田健悟饰演该剧的主要反派，西乡Akira。RGG工作室总监横山昌义指出，以在电视剧《假面骑士Drive》中的角色而闻名的竹内凉真和角田健悟为他们的角色带来了全新的诠释。
“说实话，他们对角色的刻画与原著故事完全不同，”横山昌义在圣地亚哥动漫展上接受世嘉采访时说道。“但这正是这部剧集的魅力所在。”横山表示，虽然游戏已经将桐生一马塑造得完美无缺，但他欣赏这部剧集对这两个角色的新颖诠释。
预告片只展示了该剧的简短片段，但粉丝们看到了标志性的地下格斗场“斗技场”以及桐生一马与岛野富志的对抗。
根据预告片的描述，这部真人版改编剧集承诺将“描绘凶狠却充满激情的黑帮分子以及生活在巨大娱乐区神室町（一个以新宿歌舞伎町为原型虚构的地区）的人们的生活”。
这部剧集的灵感松散地源自第一款游戏，它讲述了桐生一马及其童年朋友的生活，向粉丝们展示了桐生一马“过去的游戏无法探索的部分”。
尽管粉丝们最初担心该剧的硬朗氛围可能无法体现游戏中的搞笑时刻，但横山昌义向粉丝们保证，即将在Prime Video播出的这部剧集将捕捉到“原著的精髓”。
在圣地亚哥动漫展上接受世嘉采访时，横山昌义解释说，他对真人版改编剧集最大的担忧是“它只会是简单的模仿。相反，我希望人们能够体验《如龙》，就好像这是他们第一次接触它一样”。
“说实话，它好到让我嫉妒，”横山昌义继续说道。“我们20年前创造了这个设定，但他们能够使其成为他们自己的……然而他们并没有忽略原著故事。”
看完这部剧集后，他指出：“如果你不了解这个游戏，它就是一个全新的世界。如果你了解它，你将会一直咧嘴笑着。”他甚至暗示，第一集的结尾会有一个巨大的惊喜，让他尖叫并跳了起来。
预告片中并没有展示太多内容，但粉丝们不必等待太久，《如龙：如龙》将于今年10月24日在亚马逊Prime Video独家首播，前三集将同时上线。其余三集将于11月1日发布。
