With the launch of Dragon Age: The Veilguard inching closer, BioWare has unveiled exciting details about what PC players can expect from the upcoming game.

In a recent developer journal, BioWare unveiled details about what PC players can expect from Dragon Age: The Veilguard ahead of its release. The studio highlighted a range of features, including: customization options, advanced display settings, and seamless integrations with Steam’s native features, including cloud saves, Remote Play support, and compatibility with the Steam Deck.

The recent announcement came alongside a new "RTX Announce Trailer" clip from Nvidia, that confirmed the game’s October 31 release date. As part of its marketing push, BioWare shared insights into creating an optimal experience for the PC, the platform the Dragon Age series originated on. "The Dragon Age franchise started out on PC, and we wanted to make sure PC is a great place to play our game," the studio saif. To achieve this, BioWare said it locked in about 200,000 hours of performance and compatibility testing on PCs, which accounted for 40% of their overall platform testing efforts.

Additionally, BioWare conducted nearly 10,000 hours of user research to refine controls and UI functions across different setups. Players can expect native support for PS5 DualSense controllers with haptic feedback, along with support for Xbox controllers and keyboard and mouse setups. Moreover, the game will allow players to cycle between controllers and keyboard/mouse setups mid-game or in menus. The game also introduces customizable class-specific keybinds, allowing for personalized controls. The Veilguard will support 21:9 Ultrawide display, Cinematic Aspect Ratio toggle, customizable field of view (FOV), uncapped frame rates, full HDR support, and Ray Tracing features.
