The DOOM community's ingenuity knows no bounds! Recently, NyanSatan achieved the seemingly impossible: running the classic DOOM on Apple's Lightning/HDMI adapter. This adapter, surprisingly, boasts its own iOS-based firmware and a processor clocking up to 168 MHz. NyanSatan accessed this firmware, cleverly using a MacBook to overcome the adapter's lack of internal memory, and successfully launched the game.
Meanwhile, news on a new DOOM iteration offers exciting accessibility features. DOOM: The Dark Ages will allow players to significantly customize the difficulty, adjusting demon aggression, projectile speed, damage values, and even the overall game tempo and parry timing. This level of customization surpasses previous id Software titles.
Executive producer Marty Stratton emphasized the game's accessibility, stating that players can modify enemy damage and difficulty to suit their preferences. Importantly, Stratton confirmed that prior experience with DOOM: The Dark Ages isn't necessary to understand the storylines in either DOOM: The Dark Ages or DOOM: Eternal.
