Don't Starve Together's Mobile Debut: No Netflix, But Coming to iOS and Android
Following a period of silence since its June 2024 Netflix Games announcement, Don't Starve Together's release plans have shifted. While it will no longer be available on Netflix Games, the good news is that the mobile version for iOS and Android is still on track.
Playdigious and Klei Entertainment are collaborating to bring this Tim Burton-esque survival game to mobile platforms globally via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Players will once again face the challenge of resource gathering and survival against hostile wildlife as quirky characters, all while avoiding starvation.
Although a precise release date is yet to be announced, both developers have confirmed that an official date is forthcoming.

Netflix Exclusivity Deal Ends
The apparent termination of Don't Starve Together's Netflix exclusivity agreement raises questions about Netflix Games' future commitment to indie titles. The cancellation, along with other indie exclusive cancellations like Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon, suggests a potential shift in strategy.
Given Don't Starve's significant popularity and status as a leading indie survival game, its removal from the Netflix platform is noteworthy. This raises concerns about the prospects for other indie games on the service. Netflix's impressive indie game library has been a major draw, and this change may impact its appeal.
