Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still under development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.
This issue, reported since early January 2025, has caused significant frustration among players. The problem surfaced after a large game update in early January, adding to existing concerns about cheating and bugs. The temporary fix suspends skill rating penalties and timeouts for players disconnecting before Ranked matches begin. Penalties will still apply for players leaving mid-match.
The developer, Raven Software, acknowledged the issue on January 6th and announced the temporary fix on January 9th via Twitter. This addresses player complaints about unwarranted penalties stemming from the unavoidable crashes. While the temporary measure provides some relief, players eagerly await a complete resolution to prevent future disruptions to Ranked gameplay. The ongoing challenges highlight the ongoing struggle to maintain stability and address bugs in the popular battle royale title.
