Application Description
Effortlessly Digitize Your Chess Games with Our Score Sheet Scanner
Transform your handwritten chess score sheets into digital games with ease. Our app extracts text from your score sheets to generate a complete game, displaying an overview of the sheet alongside the generated moves. If any moves are misrecognized, you can swiftly correct them using our intuitive move suggestions feature.
Once your game is digitized, you can categorize it into a tournament, analyze it on platforms like Lichess or Chess.com, or export it as a PGN file for further use.
Scanning Your Score Sheets
Capture your score sheets using our built-in scanner or select them from your gallery. The app efficiently extracts the game data directly from the image. You can specify score sheets for both the White and Black players, which is especially useful for tournament directors. When generating the game, both players' versions are taken into account, allowing for up to two score sheets per player.
Generate Your Game
After scanning, you can immediately generate your game or choose to manually overlay the move grid for more precise input.
Supported Notations
Our app supports a wide range of chess notations including:
- English: N/B/R/Q/K
- German: S/L/T/D/K
- Dutch: P/L/T/D/K
- Spanish / Italian: C/A/T/D/R
- French: C/F/T/D/R
- Portuguese: C/B/T/D/R
- Czech / Slovak: J/S/V/D/K
While other notations can also be specified, recognition accuracy may vary as they are analyzed based on our existing model.
Game Generation
To generate your game, your score sheets are sent to our servers. The processing time depends on factors like the legibility of the score sheet, game length, and your internet connection, typically ranging from 1 to 10 seconds.
Overview of the Generated Game
The game overview displays the score sheet columns with the corresponding generated moves. The background color of each move indicates its recognition confidence. Tapping on a move directs you to the exact chess position, where alternative moves are suggested.
Move Suggestions
If a move is not recognized correctly, our move suggestions feature allows you to correct it easily. Suggestions are ranked by probability and can be filtered by the piece to be moved. After making corrections, you can regenerate the game from the current move.
Handling Crossed Out or Forgotten Moves
Don't worry if you've crossed out moves or forgotten to record some on your score sheet. In the game overview, you can skip or insert moves and then regenerate the game with your adjustments.
Adding Game Data
Enhance your game records by adding player and tournament data, as well as additional details via a description field.
Overview & Filtering of Games
Our app provides a comprehensive overview of all your entered games. You can filter them by tournament, round, and favorites, and use the search field to find games by players or game descriptions.
Exporting Games
Export filtered games or individual games as PGN files. Customize your PGN exports in the settings to include specific data like tournament, round, and date.
Importing Games
Import additional games into the app using PGN files.
Analyzing Games
Dive deeper into your games by opening them directly on Lichess or Chess.com for in-depth analysis.
Note: Exporting and analyzing games are premium features.
